Avoid set routines and design your own schedules. Here, you can experience an exceptional, exclusive and private safari. Our dedicated team of guides, hosts, housekeepers and chefs are there to create a fully bespoke stay and safari experience tailored to your needs.
Watch the birdlife on the sandbank, crocodiles and hippos swimming by, and if you are lucky you can observe otters playing. You could also try catch and release fishing from our river deck, with tackle provided. A short 100m path from the lodge along the river leads to Hippo Hide, a secluded spot with spectacular river views that is excellent for birdwatching. Look above and see local eagle and vulture species enjoying riding the thermals.
The team at Tapologo and Limpopo Lipadi is dedicated to providing visitors with individualised service at all times. Everybody is attentive, unobtrusive and eager to please. At Tapologo, every element of the experience from meals to game drives can be tailored and timed to suit our guests.

Bush and River Walks
A guided bush or river walk gets you even closer to our breath taking surroundings. Take a walk along the bank of the Limpopo River, or meander along the riverbed during the dry season at your own pace and appreciate the trees, scenery and panoramic views. Learn about the trees, grasses & wildflowers and try to identify the various animal tracks you come across. Try and discover the Little 5; the elephant shrew, the leopard tortoise, the buffalo weaver, the ant lion and the rhino beetle.

Rhino Walks
A truly immersive experience at Limpopo-Lipadi is the possibility to join members of our anti-poaching unit on their daily mission to track our white rhinos on foot. We offer the opportunity to join them, an exhilarating experience to track white rhino through the bush and get eye to eye with these magnificent and endangered species whilst learning about their ecology and behaviour.

Game Drives
Go on safari with one of our experienced guides and admire the truly diverse habitats that support our enthralling range of animal species, birdlife and flora, including several endangered and threatened species such as elephant, southern white rhinoceros, painted wolf, lion, leopard and both spotted and brown Hyena.
Drive through the lush riverine forests, open plains, breath-taking acacia forests, or magnificent baobabs. Look out for tracks, listen to alarm calls and be on alert for nearby predators. You can spend time in one of our hides, sit by a waterhole or find a secluded place for your sundowner.
Night-time game drives are an incredible experience and open up a new dimension to your safari, as many of the African wildlife species are largely nocturnal.

Birding
The riverine forest along the Limpopo River is home to over 300 bird species including african fish eagles, kingfishers, egrets, herons, bee eaters, vultures, storks, cormorants, hammerkops, ducks and geese, weavers, rollers, paradise flycatchers and many others. All of the Big 6 birds can be spotted at Limpopo-Lipadi: the kori bustard (Botswana’s national bird), the martial eagle, the lapped-faced vulture, pel’s fishing owl, the saddle-billed stork and the southern ground hornbill.

Night Sky Safari
Choose to spend the evening stargazing, or even sleep out under the stars on Tapologo’s star deck. With no light pollution, the Milky Way will take your breath away. A telescope is provided so you can observe the constellations of the southern hemisphere and get even closer to the night sky!

Camping out
Spend the night under the stars, beneath a beautiful baobab in the middle of the Reserve. Be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the African bush at nightfall, a magical experience as your senses start to sharpen in the complete absence of any noise pollution. Then, look forward to waking up in a beautiful African sunrise.

Local Tours
Experience the local culture and enter a different world as you explore Tsetsebjwe, a village that is located a short 30min drive from the reserve. Visit one of the local schools and see the Kgotla, the community council which also serves as a traditional law court in Botswana. Limpopo Lipadi has an active MOTSE committee which supports local schools, health clinics and community activities.
The stunning Moremi Gorge is also within a 2 hour drive from the reserve. Perennial streams and ponds have cut deep gorges, making it a perfect breeding ground for the endangered cape vulture. Walk to the top of the hill and view the gorgeous waterfalls cascading into deep spring pools, framed by lush mosses and ferns. The Gorge is believed to be home to ancestral spirits, dwelling in the local hills and revered by the community.
