About Limpopo-Lipadi

The Wilderness and Wildlife Reserve is located on the Northern banks of the Limpopo River, in the Tuli Block area of Botswana. Limpopo-Lipadi spans 50,500 acres of biodiverse landscape, with abundant flora and fauna, and includes 14 kilometres of riverine forest frontage.

Over 300 species of birds and most of the iconic species of Southern African wildlife can be found here, including several endangered and threatened species such as elephant, lion, leopard, southern white rhinoceros, painted wolf (African wild dog) and both types of hyena; spotted and brown. The Reserve supports the surrounding villages and community through the MOTSE community and wildlife conservancy organisation.

MOTSE contributes to initiatives in education and health to empower and assist our communities, improving the health of and creating employment opportunities for Botswana citizens. Limpopo-Lipadi’s mission is to return the former farmland back to its natural state, a collaborative and fulfilling journey ongoing since 2002. To advance this goal, the Reserve pursues multiple ongoing conservation and research activities covering animal management and veld rehabilitation.

The Reserve is fenced for the protection of our white rhino, lion and wild dog populations. Limpopo Lipadi is considered a low risk malaria reserve.
